Two suspects arrested in Pell City burglaries

The Pell City Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection with a series of burglaries within the municipality, according to a release from Sgt. Don Newton, Pell City Police Department Public Information Officer.

Jacob Read Parker,18, of Ragland and Anthony William Hudgins,19, of Centre, were arrested on multiple felony charges tied to a series of recent car burglaries in the Pell City area, Friday’s release states.

Parker and Hudgins are each charged with one count of Second Degree Burglary, one count of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, three counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, and one count of Receiving Stolen Property.

“These two were initially arrested on drug charges as the result of saturated patrol by night shift officers,” said Pell City Police Chief Paul Irwin. “The additional charges stemmed from information developed by the officers and our Detective Division.”

“There may be additional charges forthcoming and there are still ongoing investigations of recent car burglaries,” added Irwin. “I am very proud of the efforts of our Police Department and if anyone has any further information regarding these or other criminal activity to please contact us as soon as possible.”

The release cautions residents to lock vehicle doors and remove property from inside vehicles, while the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with further information is requested to contact the Pell City Police Department at (205) 884-3334.
