Ragland News: third annual BBQ fundraiser a great success

This past week was the last week of the summer reading program. I hope all of you enjoyed all the fun activities. Mrs. Sandi would like to thank all of the kid, staff and parents who had to rearrange the schedule for the kids to be able to be at all the activities. Mrs. Sandi said they had more kids attend this year. She also said there have been more patrons come visit the library this year. Our library is growing! Go check out a book or two today.

Also, the third Annual Taylor Nail BBQ event was a success. Thank you to everyone who purchased something, sold something, delivered, cooked and helped clean up. The RHS Band would also like to thank Ragland First Baptist Church for allowing us to use their kitchen every year. The BBQ is to raise money for all the band’s needs such as music, gas for the bus, etc… This year, the band will be splitting the funds to give away a Taylor Nail Scholarship.

I would also like to address the issue of speeding on certain roads. I worry about the young people thinking it’s fun, and it may be, but in the long run you could hurt yourself or others. Please for your sake, slow down. That is my rant for the week.

I also would like to send our love and prayers to the Daffron, Carlisle, Akin, Harris, and Barksdale family for loss of their love ones.
