Pell City Chamber welcomes new 2016 board members

Last week, members of the 2016 Board of Directors for Greater Pell City Chamber of Commerce were sworn in to office. The ceremony, part of the Chamber’s Annual Meeting held at Celebrations on Jan. 14, welcomed five new members of the board: Pam Argo, Jeremy Gossett, Nancy Gerety, Brandon Turner and Bob Osborne.

New members were nominated and voted on by Chamber members. Below are their descriptions from the ballot:

Pam Argo: Site Coordinator for Huntington College Evening’s Bachelor’s Degree at Jefferson State in Pell City. In 2009 she retired after teaching for 25 years, the last 20 which were spent at Mountain Brook Junior High School. She taught English, public speaking, reading, creative writing, and journalism. 

Nancy Gerety: General Manager of the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites and the Hampton Inn, Pell City, Al. Nancy has had the Honor of serving on the Greater Pell City Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors from 2014 – 2014. She also served a one-year term on the Executive Board as Treasurer.

Jeremy Gossett: Sales Executive & Voice Talent for 94.1 FM The River. He is a member of Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He was involved with the initial planning and design of the CEPA on the campus of Pell City High School. He was responsible for implementing and developing the local history portion of the Smithsonian Institution’s “The Way We worked.”

Bob Osborn: Retired video engineer for BellSouth/AT&T and currently a consultant for fiber optic transport systems. Bob was a regional sales manager for IPITEK broadband fiber transport and VP of engineering for CinEvents. His civic involvement include: Volunteer for Pell City Chamber of Commerce, Food Coordinator for Christian Love Pantry, and Coordinator for Veterans Home Sunday Worship, Southern Baptist Disaster Recovery Team, and Vice Chair for Shades Mountain Church Board. Bob and his wife reside in Pell City.

Brandon Turner: A graduate of Pell City High School and lives in Riverside with wife, Anna and 2 children, Piper Addison & Millie Bleu. He has been employed with Metro Bank since 2008.

The Chamber also recognized its 2016 officers during the ceremony. They are: Ed Brasher, president; Larry Daugherty, president-elect; Dana Jacks, vice president, and Will Hardwick, treasurer.
