Shrek the Musical starts tonight at CEPA

Beginning tonight, the Pell City High School Drama Department will present a weekend run of Shrek the Musical at the Pell City Center for Education and the Performing Arts (CEPA).

Throughout April, PCHS students have been preparing for the production, learning dozens of parts based on the popular DreamWorks Animation movie and book by William Steig. Maybe more impressive, they’ve constructed a 30-foot, paper mache dragon and worked with other departments to build their own sets.

“It’s going to be an awesome production!” said Department director Ginger McCurry.

The production will run April 21-24 at CEPA. Showtimes are April 21-23 at 7 p.m. and April 24 at 2 p.m. Admission is $5 for students and $10 for adults.
