Viral sensation April the giraffe may be pregnant again

HARPURSVILLE, NY (RNN) – April the giraffe, who captivated the Internet via livestream, already has one baby, but she may – or may not – be having another.

Seven months after the birth of April’s baby boy, Tajiri, Animal Adventure Park owner Jordan Patch gave an update on the family on “Good Morning America.”

When asked about a new baby, Patch remained coy.

“I cannot confirm nor deny the possibility of another pregnancy,” Patch said.

The “Good Morning America” team took the statement as confirmation and asked if this possible pregnancy and birth would also be shown online.

“Are we ready for another giraffe cam, world? You tell me,” Patch said.

The zoo wrote in an October Facebook post that April “has been cleared for another pregnancy and has our blessing to allow nature to take its course.”

In his TV appearance, Patch said April has been an amazing mother to baby Tajiri, who likes to be independent, thanks to his father Oliver.

The “little” guy – who isn’t so little anymore, standing just shy of 10’ tall on his 6th month birthday – doesn’t just take after his dad, Animal Adventure Park said on Facebook.

His genuine demeanor with guests and keepers echoes his mother’s personality, the post says.

April was pregnant with Tajiri for 16 months, so even if she is pregnant, we have a long time to wait.

Thankfully, there’s little to no wait if you simply want to see everyone’s favorite giraffe family. Animal Adventure Park runs a live camera feed every day of the week between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. ET.
