‘Taste of Argo’ was huge success
The “Taste of Argo” brought the community together with music, activities for the kids and food on Saturday.
Children enjoyed eating snow cones and cotton candy, jumping in the inflatable castle and getting their face painted by Slimbo the clown (Eddie Gilmore). Adults escaped the hot weather by listening to the “4 Kool Cats” from Argo Christian Fellowship. They performed songs by artists like Elvis, Buddy Holly and Ricky Nelson.
“It’s good to see people coming out and supporting their community,” Allan Ward said. “It’s important for the community to have a foundation in a grassroots effort.”
Anne Brown, the first president of the Argo Community Action Team, agreed and said her team looked for ways “to bring new residents together with old residents.” They currently are working to promote the park to get more equipment for the playground.
“Taste of Argo,” which was at the new Argo Town Hall, also had booths where local business and churches shared information and giveaways.
