Lady Saints Edge Win Over Moody

The Lady Saints (1-1) of St. Clair County High School and the Lady Blue Devils (0-2) of Moody went head-to-head last week for a game that came down to the wire, however the Saints emerged victorious with a one-point win at 37-36.

The first period ended with St. Clair outscoring Moody 11-5.

The Lady Devils warmed up and the pressure was on by the end of the half. The ladies hit the locker room with a one-point deficit between them and the Saints up 18-17.

The ladies continued to keep the pressure on into the third with Moody jumping ahead 27-22.

The Lady Devils kept the gap narrowed into the fourth, but St. Clair refused to trail and took the one-point victory at 37-36.

Kreshala Mickens led the Saints to the win with 15 points, followed by Rhianna Moncrief with 10.

Candace Brown led the Devils with 11.



Moody 40, Sylacauga 32

Moody’s Lady Devils (1-2-0) picked up their first win of the season last week downing Sylacauga 63-37.

Cameron Dizaar led Moody scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds.

Fultondale 37

The Lady Saints (2-1-0) continued their winning streak against Fultondale with a 63-37 win.

Mickens scored 21 points for the Saints and was followed by Moncrief with 18.
