Lady Dogs Beat Lady Saints

Ashville 73, St. Clair 34

The Lady Bulldogs took a bite out of the Lady Saints in last week’s game with Angela Gillespie netting 13 buckets, Mara Mattison netting 12 and Kim Fuller chipping in 11.

Kreshala Mickens had 26 points for the Lady Saints in that game.

Ashville 42, Springville 58

Springville bested Ashville in what used to be a traditional county rivalry when the schools were smaller just a few years back. Junior Powerhouse Kim Fuller brought the heat with 23 points that game.

Ashville 35, Sumter Co. 51

In the final game of the Etowah Christmas Tournament, Fuller had 12 points, Mattison had seven while Jacie Tipton and Angela Gillespie each contributed six.

Ashville 43, Etowah 35

Ashville picked up the area win in the teams’ second meeting of the year. The Lady Bulldogs were up 13-10 at eh end of the first and 22-16 by the half before pushing the lead to 32-23 at the close of the third.

Gillespie was the high scorer with 13 points that night; Gillespie had nine while Mattison and Stormy Penland each had six.

Ashville 43, Tanner 58

In the first game of the Etowah Christmas Tournament Ashville was downed by 2A Tanner. Fuller had nine points while Gillespie and Tipton each had seven.
