Coach House: “D” is Key for Lady Tigers

Last weekend the Springville Last Tigers began their season with a tournament at Oak Mountain.

Head coach Warren House said that his team is getting their stride together and are working on key elements in practices.

“We’ve been working real hard on defense so far,” House said. “We’re trying to increase our intensity so we can have a good defensive presence and have some turnovers off of that.”

He said that his team is also working on their offensive presence and keeping the intensity on their attack. “We’re trying to work on playing up tempo,” House said.

He said that although his team has younger members this year they are learning how to take the fight to the basket. “They’re trying to learn new stuff and we’re working on old stuff that the [juniors and seniors] already know,” House said.

He said that even if it takes a few games for his team to gel, that he’s optimistic about this year’s season.
