Undefeated Lady Tigers break nine-game losing streak to Hewitt-Trussville

Seniors Geri Wilson and Molly Lindsey combined for 21 points Tuesday, leading Springville’s Lady Tigers (5-0) to a 46-37 win against Hewitt-Trussville, snapping a nine-game losing streak to the Lady Huskies.

“It was good to get this win,” said Coach Warren House. “Defensively, the girls had a good first half. In the second half, we forgot our defensive principles and gave up too many points. We  will have to do a better job rebounding in the future.”

Tuesday’s win followed victories against Vincent and Munford.

A 21-point first quarter propelled the Lady Tigers over Vincent 66-18, with Lindsey scoring 15 points and Anna Marie Ronderos and Hannah Long adding 10 each.

Ashley Shaw scored 18 points and had two rebounds, four steals, and three assists as Springville outplaced Munford 64-39.

Lindsey and Ronderos each scored 10 points.

“The team played with a lot of energy,” House said.
