[See picture at right] It wasn’t an oversight, they just didn’t know so many kids would compete and now they have been recognized. The Big Springs 5K organizers honored kids who ran the marathon last month at this week’s Springville city council meeting. Female winners age 1-14, each were from Springville: First place (pictured) Madison Browning, 12, 27:26; second place, Jade Kirkwood, 12, 30:16 and third place, Carlie Payne, 13, 33:20.

Male winners age 1-14 were, first place,  Kendall Cowley (school not available), 12, 27:24; second place was Gibson Bosworth, 13, of Springville, 28:24 and third place was Aston Brian Casey, 11, of Springville, 29:16.
