Realtors serve to fight cancer

A hamburger and hotdog cookout was recently hosted by the St. Clair Association of Realtors and their affiliates. A team of 15 members were involved in their mission to help fund Relay for Life.

They raised a total of $1854.68 combined with cookouts that took place at the Pell City and Ashville courthouses. One generous donator pitched in $100 at the end of the Pell City cookout.

“Both Ashville and Pell City worked very hard to provide a good lunch to both sides of the county to raise money for American Cancer Society,” said Nicole Anderson Sparks, a member of the realtor group.

This year, the Pell City team honored Maria Price to support her during her battle with cancer. “She is a fighter and we are very proud of her,” Sparks said.

The realtors will be having a Bake Sale the night of the April 30 relay events and will be giving out grab bags of goodies.

The remainder of the lunches were donated to the Journey Recovery House in Cropwell and the jail in Ashville.
