The Ragland Purple Devils were edged by Sacred Heart 49-44 Monday in Ragland. J.T. Caldwell had 14 points and three rebounds. Mason Sanders doubled up with ten points and ten rebounds. Jameil Brock contributed nine points, five rebounds and three steals. Coach Andy Eden said, “We’re playing better, but just can’t put other teams away. This was our first area loss and we’ve got to get shots to fall to have a chance to win.”

Appalachian 41, Ragland 35

Appalachian came to Ragland last Friday night and handed the Purple Devils a loss. “We had a really awful first half. Our effort was considerably better in the second half, but we could not take the lead. Appalachian outplayed us in every area of the game,” Coach Eden said. Jamarcus Embry led the way with 17 points and three rebounds. Nick Kay added nine points and Mason Sanders did a little bit of everything with eight rebounds, three steals and three assists.
