St. Vincent’s St. Clair opens Advanced Wound Care Center

St. Vincent’s St. Clair held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Advanced Wound Care Center.
The Advanced Wound Care Center is an outpatient program that focuses on chronic and non-healing wounds.  Using advanced treatment modalities and a case management model, the staff works in partnership with physicians, nurses and multiple medical disciplines to serve patients.
James W. West, M.D., FACS is the medical director of the new center.  Dr. West is a general surgeon certified in wound care.  Phillip Hadley, Jr. is the program director for the center.
“Our mission here at the Wound Care Center is to improve the quality of life for our patients.  Our staff and physicians will work together to promote an accelerated healing of wounds associated with diabetes, pressure ulcers and traumatic wounds,” Kidada Hawkins, Interim President of Rural Hospital Operations, said.  “We are proud to be able to provide these services in our area, giving our community an opportunity to receive this quality care close to home.”
Located in Suite 220 of the Physicians Plaza, the center accepts patients through physician referral or self-referral.  For more information call 205-814-2342.
