A Pell City man is in custody at the St. Clair County Jail, charged with the murder of his sister.

Sgt. Don Newton said Wednesday that 30-year-old Brett Love was named as a possible suspect and later arrested after police discovered the body of 29-year-old Lindsay Love at a residence on the 100 block of 31st Street North in Pell City.

Officers were dispatched to the house shortly after 3 a.m. Wednesday after receiving a phone call asking them to check on the residence.

Newton described the crime scene as “brutal,” but police had not, as of Wednesday afternoon, released the cause of Lindsay Love’s death. Her young child was at the scene but was unharmed, officers said. Riverside police assisted with the investigation.
