It’s about respect
Well, the folks in Alabama have had our say about the Republican candidates. Ffrom all indications not one of those running for the opportunity to challenge Obama for president truly fired up the voters. Each one had their third of the supporters and had their two third share of the detractors. I have my own love hate issues with each one.
Let’s take a step back from the thought of who would be best for the country if they got elected and forgot for a moment who we think might beat Obama in the fall. Don’t give any thought to which one the media would be most likely to destroy in the fall campaign. Forget all of those things at we have been looking and ask your self one simple question. “Do these men love the country they are seeking to lead?”
If you look at some of the things that Obama had done that truly disgusted much of America, I think that you will discover why we have had such a time choosing a Republican candidate.
The simplest, early indication that Obama was going to be a disappointment for those of us that love our country was his failure to place his hand over his heart while the national anthem was being played. His contempt for the American flag. That single act told all that wished to take note of it that our President did not share our love of country. It is OK to state that we can do better. It is OK to strive to improve out country, even when the viability of your plans are questionable. When a President, by his own actions, provides a significant, in your face, lack of respect, you must ask yourself, “Obama has just shown a lack of respect, can I trust him?”
Americans want to see our country have a strong economy. We want our country to again display those unique qualities and values that reinforce our pride in our country, the country in which we live. We want our country to display the values and the promise that for over 200 years have made it the destination point for those that want a better life. For those people that want to be an American. We want our country to be led by an individual that values our country as we do.
We want a leader that can demonstrate the love for our country that the vast majority of the American citizens display as our flag is raised and the National Anthem is played. We want a President that will display the Flag of The United States with pride and respect. A president that truly loves and respects this country will display the desire to govern with care.
To earn my respect a presidential candidate must respect and protect our country, its citizens and honor those that have given their lives for our freedoms. I do not want an apologist and Chief. I want a leader, a confident protector of our freedom and the values described in the cherished documents that are the foundation of our government.
I firmly believe that if we chose a person who can display respect for our country, our values, and our national traditions we will have chosen a good president. We don’t need another President that can’t display their respect for our country. We want a president that loves and respects our country.
