Attack politics and the politics of attacking

We are approaching the presidential election and predictably the attacks on conservatives and conservative beliefs are increasing.  I hesitated to write the following words because they will be viewed as demonizing and polarizing.  When under attack it is important to understand your enemy.  We do have an enemy in our country, and that enemy has the singular goal of the destruction of the American way of life.  It is always the attackers privilege to define the rules and nature of engagement.
I find myself continually asking, why?  Why do we have an American, a person that owes his education, his access to opportunity, owes his success to the very country he is destroying?   What is it about our president that he purposely attacks the country that has allowed him to become educated and given him success at a level beyond the dreams of 99.9999% of the people in the world? Although personally successful in achieving the office of president, he is a total failure at governing the people of these United States.
More distressing than his personal successes or failures is the blind support given to him by many Americans.  Hidden in his support, support that is in rapid decline, are the reasons that the attacks on voters will be so disgusting, frequent, repulsive, and baffling.  It is important that we understand that the emotions behind the liberal support most likely will not match the motivations for our presidents actions.  This is a very important point in understanding and defeating the liberals at the polls.   Because there is a mismatch between the president’s reasons for action and the liberal support of his presidency.  Another way of saying this is the president of the United States is lying to not only those he wishes to defeat but to his own supporters.
An understanding of the disconnect between the president and his supporters provides an understanding of the tactics used by those orchestrating his campaign and an understanding of why his failures in governing will result in his failure to win a second term.  I am not saying that the conservatives, far from it, already win the election.   Without regard to the spin put out by both sides, both sides have and opportunity to loose.   Obama can’t be honest with his supporters, he has not achieved or pursued the promises he made.   He can’t be publicly honest about what he promised his supporters because they are not a majority and they are split by many issues that are not supported by the majority of the American public.
Obama doesn’t have a positive record for his supporters or a record that appeals to the majority of the American voters.  His only hope is to portray Romney as less capable, less honest, less concerned about the common man, less in every quality than Obama.  Put in simple terms he and his supporters must attack, attack, and lie.
One goal of the attacks will be to define Romney in such a way that people will not want to identified with him publicly.  They will take every opportunity, honest or dishonest, to marginalize Romney.   We have seen this done to Bush as president and have watched the Democratic media surrogates aggressively attacking Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Tim Pawlenty and Herman Cain.  Nothing pleases a Democrat more that demonizing a conservative.   The attack will get more vicious, more personal more devoid of honesty and factual basis.  Obama can’t run on his record so his campaign will seek to achieve the complete destruction of any positive public perception of Mitt Romney.  Their goal is to convince the American public that anyone who would support Romney is uneducated, ill-informed, a buffoon and a social outcast.  They want Romney supporters to pay a price, a large personal price, for opposing Obama.  Good luck Mr. President. The American people don’t respond well to the political bullying conducted by the left.
