Sidney “Jabo” Nixon, Jr.

Funeral service for Sidney “Jabo” Nixon, Jr., age 92, of Cropwell, was held Thursday, March 27 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Kilgroe Funeral Home.  Interment was in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.  The family received friends from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Nixon died March 24, 2014.  He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Charles “Ridley” Nixon; 2 sisters, Hazel Brown, Mavis Whetstone; 3 brothers, Barney Nixon, Laly Nixon & Billy Nixon.  He is a WWII Navy Veteran, served in South Pacific on USS Maryland, member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.

He is survived by 2 daughters, Iris (Paul) Mitchell, Lynn (Chuck) Norris; sister, Juanita Spraggins; 4 grandchildren, Tracy Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell, Jessica Norris, Lucas Norris; numerous nieces and nephews.
