Wood announces candidacy for Pell City District 3

Dot Wood seeks reelection for the Pell City Council District 3 seat.
As her first term on the council comes to an end, Wood hopes to continue working on behalf of Pell City residents.
“It has been my honor to serve the citizens of Pell City. I would like to continue as their voice at city hall,” Wood said.
A Pell City resident for 25 years, Wood is the owner of Wood Appraisal Service, a small business located in District 3 that has been in business for more than 20 years.  Wood has been married to her husband, Mike, for 38 years.
Wearing many hats in the Pell City community, Wood is a member of the Pell City Rotary Club, Pell City Business and Professional Women, the St. Clair County Board of Realtors and a past board member of the Pell City Chamber of Commerce.  She has served as the vice president and the treasurer for the Chamber.  Since 2003 Wood has served as a board member of Pell City Planning and Zoning.
Wood is also a member of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers, Designated Appraiser, IFA (1997) and was reappointed by the governor to the Real Estate Appraisers Board where she has served since 2008.  In July 2012 she was named the board’s vice-chairwoman.
“Working together with Mayor, city manger, and councilmember we can keep Pell City moving forward positively,” Wood said.
