St. Clair High School student dies in wreck
An Odenville boy is dead after being involved in a one-vehicle accident Monday evening.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., Alabama State Troopers responded to the scene where 16-year-old Casey Hare was declared dead on the scene. The one-vehicle accident occurred three miles east of Odenville on Highway 174, heading toward Springville.
According to St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell, Hare’s 1996 Nissan Altima left the road and struck a tree.
“No one witnessed it, so we don’t know what distracted him to make him leave the road,” Russell said.
The vehicle then caught on fire.
Hare was a sophomore at St. Clair County High School.
