Christmas for Children needs sponsors

The Earl Street Christmas for Children program is in need of 150 to 175 generous citizens, clubs, church groups, businesses or civic organizations to purchase gifts for children whose families are struggling this holiday season.

The program provides gifts for children ages 2 through 12 from needy families.  This is not only blessing the family that receives a helping hand, but also the people providing a little bit of Christmas cheer, as well.

The program has already received more than 100 applications, and expects many applications to still be turned in. If interested in sponsoring a child, call the Leeds Outreach at 205-699-7291 between 9 and 11:30 a.m. Monday through Friday to get your name on the sponsor list.
