Coaches resign at PCHS?
Amid reports that two members of Pell City High School’s coaching staffs have resigned, school officials said this afternoon that the matter is still under investigation.
“The matter is under review, with information still being gathered,” said Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hathcock. “For us to say anything more at the moment would not be appropriate.”
At least two Birmingham media outlets have reported that head coach and athletic director David Shores and assistant Jon Clements have resigned.
“Legal constraints prevent us from commenting on personnel matters,” Hathcock said. “Our practice in every case where there are allegations of professional misconduct is to thoroughly investigate and deal with the situation appropriately once all the facts are known.”
Shores had not returned phone calls this afternoon.
