Local businesses help promote cancer awareness

Local businesses are joining the fight against breast cancer by teaming up to “Save the Ta Tas.”

Lakeside Coffee & Princess Cupcakes owners Melissa Tims and Patti Daigle have declared the second day of the week—Ta Ta Tuesdays for the month of October.

Selling one-dollar breast cancer ribbons and serving up homemade pink lemonade cupcakes, these ladies are donating 50 cents from every pink lemonade cupcake purchase to breast cancer research.

Tims’ sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and has had a double mastectomy, undergone reconstructive surgery, finished treatment and is in full remission.

Their fundraising efforts have been heard about town and other groups raising money for breast cancer research have placed Ta Ta Tuesday orders to assist in the joint effort to kick cancer.

This Tuesday, October 16 is Boss’s Day, so get that multi-tasking done by contributing to a worthy cause and putting a smile on the boss’s face.

To place your Ta Ta Tuesday pink lemonade cupcakes order call Lakeside Coffee & Princess Cupcakes at 205-227-0289 or visit and like their Facebook page.

The ta tas will thank you for it!
