- Creating a family friendly environment, The Wing Café owner Angela Lewis believes, “If you embrace the community they will come back to you.”
Wings—they’re what’s for dinner now that The Wing Café is open for business.
Drawing in those looking to fill their rumbling tummies, Angela Lewis, The Wing Café owner, says she and her staff are ready to take your order.
Open since October 25th The Wing Café team has seen several repeat customers.
“It’s so refreshing to be this young and see friendly faces back in the restaurant,” said Lewis. “Making The Wing Café a reality has been on my mind for a year-and-a-half now and we’re lucky to be in a building with such history.”
Located at 7521 Parkway Drive The Wing Café is located in the old Dairy Kreme building.
“This building maintains a lot of history here in Leeds,” Lewis said.
Looking to establish its own history as a mainstay eatery in Leeds, Lewis says they’re about providing stellar customer service and an excellent experience.
“If we provide a quality product for the citizens of Leeds (and its neighbors) and deliver great customer service people will come,” Lewis said. “We’re trying to key into that everyday.”
Striving for longevity The Wing Café brings in familiar and new faces because of two things: their family friendly atmosphere and the ability to cook up tasty meals.
“People love our Philly Cheesesteaks and Shrimp Po Boys. Besides the wings, they’re the most popular,” said Lewis. “Customers have also said we’re very reasonable.”
Priced right for family budgets The Wing Café menu ranges from items as low as $1.79 for French fries to its highest price point of $9.49 for a Philly Cheesesteak and Wing Combo (also served with fries and a drink).
Lewis also wants the Leeds community and its neighbors in Moody and St. Clair County to know that they also cater events.
With the Leeds Greenwave football team headed to the play-offs and Auburn and Alabama football (among other SEC favorites) going strong Lewis says they are ready to provide the eats for your next tailgating event or special occasion.
When ordering large orders (100 people or more) Lewis asks for a 24 hour notice and for smaller parties (50 or lower) to call at least four hours in advance.
Offering other options such as fish, burgers, ruebens, grilled cheese, chicken and salads The Wing Café has something to satisfy any craving, even those with a sweet tooth as they are slowly introducing desserts to the menu line-up.
“We want to provide the best mix possible,” said Lewis. “I like to bake so right now we’re offering my strawberry cake.”
Word is catching on about The Wing Café by word of mouth and Lewis’s grassroots marketing efforts.
“I went to a recent Leeds City Council meeting and invited everyone to come try us, have spoken with the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce about becoming a member and have introduced myself to several businesses in Leeds,” said Lewis. “I’m looking forward to getting downtown to let other local businesses know about us.”
Open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Wing Café has two large flat screen TVs ready for you to enjoy a few of your favorite things—sports and wings.
Honored by the warm welcome they’ve received from the community Lewis says the epitome of who they are and what they do is about embracing those who allow them to fulfill their dream of opening this restaurant.
What Lewis and The Wing Café family want everyone to know is, “We’re passionate about both food and service, and we just love Leeds.”
