Head Coach: Adam Wallace

Moody enters 2018 with a new head coach and an off-the-charts spirit with a renewed enthusiasm at the school for the football program. This started with the return of Adam Wallace, who had spent the last few years coaching on the Alabama Gulf Coast before returning to his alma mater as head coach.

“All I’ve tried to do since I was hired is to start a spark … to put energy back into our program.” Wallace explained that the use of social media and other outlets to generate a buzz around the program.

Wallace emphasized fun for the players in his program, saying it was easy to do with what he described “…the greatest game ever invented.”

“If you don’t have faith in something, it’s hard to keep going day to day. Of course my faith lies in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and I want to be an example of that every day.” Wallace went on to say that many members of his coaching staff share the same faith, and strive to be examples to the team and the community.

Wallace will resume calling plays in his high-octane spread offense, coordinating with Coach Eammon Kelly and Coach Greg Jefcoat to run the offense. Defensive coordinator Terry Isbell returns to the helm of Moody’s defense.

The challenges for Moody come straightaway with a daunting opening road game against Etowah County on August 31 before the start of their regional schedule.

“One thing our offensive line coach (Jefcoat) says is ‘we show up, we clock in.’ Which means we show up ready to work, to get better every single day. We’ve had the mentality that if you get one percent better every single day, you will be successful. I believe in that mentality.”

“I like our new offense we’re running. It is more (of a) spread offense with high-intensity. Is it fun? Most-Def.”

On his offseason work “Me and my teammates, we have been meeting up after school and on Sundays on our own to work on connecting; where to deliver the ball, timing, whatever we could do to get better.”

“Well, for one we go out there and do what we have to do. We are all happy to be there (on the team) and we just get after it every day, all day.”
