HOSA student earns second in state

Pell City High School’s Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) member, Hailey Spradlin, won 2nd place in the Sports Medicine category at the state level on February 22-23 in Montgomery.  Spradlin will compete in the International HOSA Leadership Conference on June 26-July 1 in Dallas, Texas. Spradlin won a $1000 scholarship from Johnson & Wales University.

The Pell City High School HOSA Club is under the supervision of Rachael Tawbush and Amanda Elliott, which is under the administration of Dr. Tony Dowdy.

“We would like to thank Mid America Rail & Storage, Northside Apothecary, ACT Physical Therapy, Therapy South, and Good Ole Boy’s Barbecue for their generous donations to the PCHS HOSA Club to assist Ms. Spradlin with her journey to Internationals,” stated Tawbush. “Also, a special thank you to Mr. Mitch Bibb, our PCHS Certified Athletic Trainer, for all of his dedication and hard work in preparing Ms. Spradlin for this competition.” 

Spradlin was recognized by the Pell City Board of Education on Tuesday.
