The Heart of Pell City presents the third annual Historic Walking Tours, every Saturday in April.

Tours will be on April 7, 14, 21, and 28. Tours are about an hour long and begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. starting at Pell City City Hall, located at 1905 1st Ave North, Pell City.

Stroll down Historic Cogswell Avenue accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. Visit some of the historic shops and find out more about the buildings’ history over the years. Learn about the origins of Pell City and the founders who created the town more than 100 years ago.

Participants are asked to check-in at least 15 minutes prior to tour start time in order to be added to groups. Comfortable walking shoes and a light jacket are suggested for the walk, which encounters a variety of terrain, but mostly along sidewalks downtown.

Participants can experience the culture and history of Pell City by taking one of these walks each Saturday in April. Cities throughout Alabama participate in Historic Walking Tours as a part of the Alabama Board of Tourism annual event.

This year, Elvis (Jacob Call) from the Pell City Center for Education and Performing Arts Spotlight production of “Four Weddings and an Elvis” will be performing songs on April 7 at 11 a.m. as part of the Walking Tour.

Also, on April 21 the cast of Pell City Players’ spring production of “Steel Magnolias” will be joining the tours in character.
