St. Clair County Airport Authority awarded grant money

The Alabama Department of Transportation has awarded more than $3.6 million in state funding to 16 local airports for improvements.

St. Clair County Airport will receive $220,500 for taxilane pavement maintenance. The St. Clair County Airport Authority will also provide $73,500 in matching local funds for a total project value of $294,000.

Other airports receiving funding include:

— Albertville Regional Airport will receive $253,856 from a state grant for the microsurfacing of a terminal apron. The city of Albertville will also provide $84,619 in matching local funds, for a total project value of $338,475.

— Anniston Regional Airport will receive $304,677 from the Federal Aviation Administration and $16,926 from a state grant to update its master plan. The city of Anniston will also provide $16,927 in matching local funds, for a total project value of $338,530.

— Craig Field Airport and Industrial Authority will receive $1,529,148 from the Federal Aviation Administration and $84,952 from a state grant to reconstruct a taxiway. The airport will also provide $84,953 in matching local funds for a total value project of $1,699,053.

— Cullman Regional-Folsom Field will receive $185,107 from a state grant for sealcoating and pavement repair of a taxilane. The city of Cullman will also provide $61,702 in matching local funds for a total project value of $209,008.

— Dothan-Houston County Airport Authority will receive $5,683,533 from the Federal Aviation Administration and $315,752 from a state grant for runway rehabilitation. The airport will also provide $315,752 in matching local funds for a total project value of $6,315,037.

— Enterprise Municipal Airport will receive $500,000 from a state grant to construct a corporate hangar. The city of Enterprise will also provide $500,000 in matching local funds for a total project value of $1,000,000.

— Florala Municipal Airport will receive $34,254 from a state grant for pavement maintenance of the midfield apron and taxiway connector. The airport will also provide $11,418 in matching local funds for a total project value of $45,672.

— Guntersville Municipal Airport will receive $104,858 from a state grant for pavement maintenance of the old terminal apron and runway. The city of Guntersville will also provide $34,953 in matching local funds for a total project value of $139,811.

— Huntsville Executive Airport, Tom Sharp, Jr. Field will receive $1,624,573 from the Federal Aviation Administration and $90,254 from a state grant to construct a runway safety area and install wildlife fencing. The Madison County Executive Airport Authority will also provide $90,254 in matching local funds for a total project value of $6,315,037.

— Lanett Regional Airport will receive $287,764 from a state grant for a Jet A Fuel Farm. The city of Lanett will also provide $287,764 in matching local funds for a total project value of $575,528.

— Merkel Field-Sylacauga Municipal Airport will receive $1,140,002 from the Federal Aviation Administration and $63,333 from a state grant for the rehabilitation of parallel and connector taxiways. The city of Sylacauga will also provide $63,334 in matching local funds for a total project value of $1,266,669.

— Mobile International Airport will receive $500,000 from a state grant to construct an airport terminal building. The Mobile Airport Authority will also provide $500,000 in matching local funds for a total project value of $1,000,000.

— Ozark Municipal Airport will receive $115,442 from a state grant for pavement maintenance of a terminal apron and connector taxiway. The city of Ozark will also provide $38,480 in matching local funds for a total project value of $153,922.

— Talladega Municipal Airport will receive $185,119 from a state grant for the sealcoating of a terminal apron. The airport will also provide $61,706 in matching local funds for a total project value of $246,825.

— Tuscaloosa National Airport will receive $203,573 from a state grant for the design development for the airport terminal renovation and expansion. The City of Tuscaloosa will also provide $203,573 in matching local funds for a total project value of $407,146.
