Summer Reading 2024 at Springville Public Library held a Campfire Craft Party Tuesday, July 2.

The Springville Senior Center held a birthday celebration for member JoAnne Davis Monday, July 9.

Construction began on July 5, for a Police Memorial at Big Springs Park organized by SPD Chief Walton to remember fallen police officers from the county.

The Baby Steps Memorial Run 5K and Fun Run will take place Sept. 14, at Homestead Hollow with all proceeds benefiting The Amelia Center at Children’s of Alabama. Register by Aug. 15 to include a memorial name on the shirts/signs. Register at runsignup.com/Race/AL/Springville/babystepsal.

The Springville PD will be conducting 2 civilian firearms training classes July 20, starting at 8 a.m. and Saturday, Sept. 14 at 9 a.m. Cost will be $50 a person. To sign up, contact the Police Department at 205-467-2701 and ask for Gina Burns.

SHS is hosting a Girls Youth Volleyball Camp for grades 3-6, Monday, July 22, Tuesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 25. Scan the QR code on the school’s Facebook page to register.

Springville Elementary will offer Kindergarten Camp July 24-25 from 8-10:30 a.m. Incoming kindergarten students will learn how to go to the lunchroom, carline and all about SES. Students must be registered for kindergarten to attend camp. This includes registering in PowerSchool, as well as bringing in all required documents.

Meet the Teacher will be Monday, Aug. 5, for kindergarten, second and fourth grades from 4-6 p.m., and Tuesday, Aug. 6, for pre-K, first and third grade, from 4-6 p.m. Students will find out teacher assignments at this time. Please bring supplies. Only students who have registered will receive a teacher assignment.
