Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club names new officers

The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club recently held its annual meeting in a different format: a decades-themed trivia contest where members dressed by decades selected by their teams and decorated tables accordingly. The 2024-25 officers, board members and committee chairs were also announced.

Winners of the trivia contest were the team from the 1970’s, Kristi and Chuck Bradford, Mike and Julie Rowe and Jef and Regina Freeman. The 1960’s team won the table decorating contest. Members of the team were Renee’ and Gary LeCroy, Van and Carolyn Horne and Greg and Deana Carroll. Sandra Vernon won best costume.

New officers include: president, Brad Wideman of Brookwood Baptist Medical Center; president-elect, Mike Rowe of Cadence Bank; past president, Dr. Kristi Bradford of Leadership Trussville; secretary, Sandra Vernon of Trussville City Schools; treasurer, Jeremy Tuggle of Bryant Bank; and sergeant-at-arms, Alan Taylor of First Baptist Church Trussville.

Directors for the coming year, in addition to the above-named officers, are David Glenn (Massey Stotser & Nichols PC), Van Horne (retired), Renee’ LeCroy (Atlanta Flooring), and Diane Poole (Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce).

Committee chairs named for the coming year are: golf fundraising – Frank Jett (retired)/Van Horne (retired)/Diane Poole (co-chairs); social events – Brian Fisher (Community Bank); membership – Renee’ LeCroy; scholarships – Jimmy Burns (Wells Fargo Investments); community service – David Como (First Bank Mortgage); international service – Marty Adams (Innovative Financial Services); club foundation chair – Mike Rowe; student/youth services – Fran Aldridge (Keller Williams Realty) and Linda Burns (Keller Williams) (co-chairs); programs – Mike Rowe; club grants – John Griscom (retired); RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) – Linda Burns; club history – Van Horne and John Griscom (retired); and public image – Diane Poole.

Trussville Rotary Daybreak, with more than 40 members, is a club in District 6860 (northern half of Alabama plus a portion of Tennessee). The current district is comprised of 50 Rotary Clubs ranging in membership from eight to over six hundred totaling about 3,200 Rotarians.
