The city of Leeds and Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed The Burrow Bookstore with a ribbon cutting Monday, June 24. Mayor David Miller cut the ribbon with store owners, Andi and Josh Argo, the Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce, a host of Leeds area business owners, chamber board members and representatives from Leeds Main Street.
“Wow, what a crowd. This is great!,” Miller said. “Welcome to Leeds Main Street and we are certainly happy to have you. You know, the main focus of this administration for the past 12 years is that education is the key and books are, of course, the cornerstone of education. We are really happy to see this downtown. We’ve needed something like this in downtown for a long time so, again, welcome and I think you’ll do great.”
A large crowd of customers lined up early on the street during the ribbon cutting to be the first in the door for the bookstore’s grand opening festivities.
“Thank you! We’re so excited to be down here to finally be open. It’s been a lot of work and I’m really proud of how it turned out,” Burrow Bookstore’s owner Andi Argo said.
The Burrow Bookstore is located at 8139 Parkway Drive in historic downtown Leeds. For more information about this new retailer, visit its Facebook page.
