Easter falls on April 17th this year. But Ashville and the surrounding areas do not need a calendar to tell them when to start celebrating. There have already been Easter egg hunts and more to come this weekend.
New Haven Baptist Church is hosting an Easter egg hunt this Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. But eggs aren’t the only fare on the menu. They will also be serving hamburgers and hot dogs.
Macedonia Baptist Church in Ragland is also having an Easter egg hunt this Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. Hotdogs are on the menu. There will also be egg dying, games and a bouncy house for the kids.
You don’t have to be a member of either church, everyone and their children are welcome.
For those who prefer more mature or educational outdoor diversions, Springville and Pell City are hosting walking tours through their historic areas. The Heart of Pell City tours begin at 10 a.m. and again at noon. They will be holding the next one this Saturday, April 23 and April 30.
The Springville tours begin at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. They start at the town Museum and stroll through what the Springville Historic Preservation Society calls “our little village.” The museum and gift shop will be open. Tours will be held every Saturday for the month of April allowing local history buffs an opportunity to attend both.
The next town meeting is April 18 at City Hall at 6p.m. with the usual work meeting at 5:30 p.m. As of this writing, there is no word on the topic of the meeting. As always, all Ashvillians are encouraged to attend.
The cost of all of the above is the same: Nothing. All you can hunt. All you can eat. All you can learn. and at a price you can’t beat!
