United Way funding opportunities open for St. Clair projects

Community Project Grants through United Way of Central Alabama are now available to provide funding for short-term projects and one-time expenses that will have a positive impact on the residents of St. Clair County. Grants are available to public entities, registered 501©3 nonprofit organizations and community groups.
The deadline to apply is June 15.
Applicants will be required to complete an application that contains the following sections: (1) Agency Administrative Information, (2) Grant Request Information and (3) Required Attachments.
Funding available: The maximum funding available is up to $2,500 per organization.
Terms:
• Funding must be spent within one calendar year.
• UWCA funding can be used to support direct costs related to the execution of programs meeting community needs or one-time expenses (purchased services or goods) that will have a positive impact on the residents of St. Clair County.
• UWCA funding cannot be used to support lobbying or fundraising activities.
Geographic area: Applicants must be based, and serve clients, in St. Clair County.
Timeline:
• UWCA internal review will be completed in July.
• Agencies will receive notifications of awards in August.
• Funding will be distributed in August.
Eligibility criteria:
• Grants are available to public entities, registered 501©3 nonprofit organizations and community groups.
• Applicants must be able to provide the required documentation:
• IRS tax exemption letter (if applicable)
• Board of Directors list
Reporting:
As a condition of accepting UWCA funds, agencies are expected to submit final project and budget reports at the conclusion of their project. All reporting will be submitted through UWCA’s online reporting system.
How to apply:
If you are a first-time applicant for a United Way of Central Alabama grant, you will need to complete the New Account Set Up Form for access to our online grant portal.
