City council meeting features no new capital improvement, hiring of public defender

The city council of Pell City meeting took place at a special time on Monday, Dec. 14, at 6:30 p.m.

While council president Jud Alverson swiftly went through the agenda, there were still some items of note from the meeting.

The council appointed Kelly Livingston public defender for Pell City Municipal Court. He is the only public defender for the city.

Alverson noted remaining Capital Improvement projects would be likely be addressed after Christmas. Currently, none are listed on the Dec. 28 agenda.

In other businesses, the council:

– Approved the authorization of an agreement with ALDOT for TAP project.

– Approved the authorization of an agreement with SAIN Associates for professional services regarding TAP project.

– Approved the authorization of the acquisition of a Right-of-Way Permanent Easement and a Temporary Construction Easement.

The next meeting of the city council will be Monday, Dec. 28.
