Vacation Bible School at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Pell City, has been in full swing all this week. The theme is “Concrete and Cranes,” Philippians 1:6 is the key bible verse. I highly commend the pastor, Rev. Mickey Jones, the VBS Director, Mrs. Redena King and all the other teachers and workers for the hard work they did for this VBS. Family Night will be held tonight, July 23, at 7 p.m. Everyone is invited.
Happy birthday to my friend, Shirley Adams of Riverside who will be 80 years young July 30!
Our sincere prayers and condolences are with the family of Thomas Carl Jones, 74, of Ashville, formerly of Coal City, who passed away June 29, 2020 in Birmingham. He was the son of the late Mr. and Ms. Connell Jones. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family at a later date.
All of us who are the family of Ginny Black, 77, of Coal City mourn her final departure from us as angels bore her to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 12, 2020. She suffered a lengthy illness. She was the youngest of the Joe and Orene Black children, Kay, Jalta, “Cliff” and I, Mona. She had two children, Ginger Knight and the late Alan Van Higginbotham, two granddaughters, two sons-in-law and five great-grandchildren. Her obituary was in last Thursday’s issue of the St. Clair News Aegis. With her keen wit she was the light of our lives. Words cannot express how much we miss her. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The announcement will be in this newspaper.
