Pell City Panthers

Head Coach: Robert Wayne Lee
The Wayne Lee era begins for the Panthers after the longtime defensive coordinator was tapped to be the new coach replacing Keith Etheredge, who left his two-year stint at Pell City after posting a 6-4 regular season record in 2017.
A lot of activity surrounded the program late this summer, including a bonafide quarterback battle that ended with junior quarterback Mitchell Gossett getting the nod to start the first game at home against Fort Payne on August 24th. Gossett will receive a lot of support from senior Darius Garrett, who plays running back and cornerback; and who is arguably the best athlete in St. Clair County, along with senior running back Collier Slovensky.
Pell City’s strong suit is their defensive front. The Panthers will be collapsing a lot of edges with their dynamic pair of defensive ends in senior Avery Weiss and Junior Jarrod Posey. The Panthers have a great defensive spine, stretching back through the very talented junior linebacker Brett Staples and a physical, ball-hawking safety In senior Bryant Freeman.
