Ann Brown, Argo councilwoman, shared her love for Argo, her hobbies and some of her Christmas favorites. Find out what Brown had to say about her Christmas traditions and love for the holiday season.
How she became a councilwoman: Brown said that she got involved with Argo City Council after attending events as a citizen. “ I saw areas where I thought I could make a contribution,” said Brown.
Other occupation and hobbies: Brown owns a small business called Natural Nails by Ann, located on Main Street in Trussville. Brown said that in her down time she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter and son. “I also just enjoy being outside and serving others,” said Brown.
Favorite Christmas movie: The Christmas story. “I love it because we’ve always watched it every year, and we gave the kids their own copy when they moved out,” said Brown. “We even have the full-sized leg lamp in our dining room window during Christmas.”
Favorite Christmas song: “Silent Night,” said Brown. “ It just softens your heart, especially when we forget the reason for the season. It reminds me how holy the season is.”
Favorite Christmas tradition: “It would definitely be decorating the Christmas tree while watching the Christmas Story,” said Brown. Another favorite she included was when her and her family join together in singing Father Christmas.
Best Christmas present: Brown said that she couldn’t think of a favorite tangible gift, but the best present was a visit from her mother. “ It was a Christmas when my daughter was little, and my parents came up right before my mother passed away.” Brown said she was so thankful to spend that last holiday with her
