Leeds 11U World Series Champions

The Leeds Green Machine 11U All-Stars won the Dizzy Dean World Series Championship at their game on Tuesday.
In Dizzy Dean World Series play, The Green Machine went undefeated, 15-1, claiming an 11-1 victory over the Madison County (AL) All-Stars and a 9-4 victory over the Houston (MS) All-Stars, setting up a showdown with the Corner (AL) All-Stars to stay in the winner’s bracket.
The Green Machine downed Corner 6-2, forcing Corner to have to play out of the losers bracket to get to the championship. The Green Machine and Corner met again in the Championship and The Green Machine emerged victorious again, with another 6-2 score, securing the 11U Dizzy Dean World Series Championship.
Conner Nelson, Gavin Bowlin, Nash Jones, Tabari Davis and Ty Bedell were named to the All-Tournament Team and Ty Bedell was named Tournament MVP.
On the road to the World Championship, the 11U Leeds Green Machine All-stars won the Regional Championship, shutting out the Shelby County All-stars and Chelsea All-Stars in the first two games and routing the Shelby County All-Stars in the Championship game 12-1.
In State Tournament Play, The Green Machine beat Walker County 9-6 and Attalla 17-1 before falling to Corner 6-2. They came back to beat Walker County again 11-2, then grabbed a 2-1 win over Corner in extra innings setting up a final showdown for the state championship. The Green Machine beat Corner again, 9-2, to claim the state title. Conner Nelson was named the Tournament MVP.
Numerous individuals, businesses, elected officials and the City of Leeds helped support the team with donations to help send these boys to bring home the World Series Championship.
