Springville Farmers Market Opening Day will be held Saturday, May 4 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Main Street. 

Springville Elementary School will be hosting the 2nd Annual Food Truck Rally on Saturday. May 4 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. If you would like to contribute or participate, contact Coach Lisa at SES. 

Springville’s Police and Fire Department have teamed up to host an event called “Springville NIght Out” Saturday, May 4 from 3 – 6 p.m. featuring many of the city, county and state’s emergency resources.  Bring your family for a first hand preview with live demos of the first responders in our area. Highlights of the day include: Helicopters, S.W.A.T., D.A.R.E, a K-9 Unit, Tow Trucks, Ambulances, a Bomb Squad and even emergency situation demos and more.

Homestead Hollow pioneer arts & crafts festival will be held May 10-14. For more information: www.homesteadhollow.com

Horse Pens 40 will host “Bluegrass & Craft Fair” on May 24 through 26.

Springville Schools 

Congratulations to SES student, Allison Cotton, for winning the St. Clair County 4-H Round Up Baking Contest.

April 30 the SMS Band will perform at CrossPoint Church in Argo at 6:30 p.m. 

Congratulations to the SHS Boys Tennis Team for winning sectionals and qualifying for State on April 22 and 23. 

The SHS Tigers Baseball Team won their Sub-Regional game against Pleasant Grove on April 20 to advance to the Regional Tournaments.

Springville Elementary School will have in-person Kindergarten Registration on Thursday, April 25 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Elementary School.

Enrollment for Fall 2019 is now open for Kids On Main. Classes available for 3K & 4K, Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Contact kidsonmain35146@gmail.com or call 205-440-5595.

The Splash Pad at Big Springs Park will hold its Opening Day on Friday, May 3 from 3 – 7 p.m. admission is $1. 

Springville’s new Pickleball Court was broken in on Saturday, April 20 for the Beginners Pickleball Clinic.

Springville Senior Center

Springville Preservation Society

Walking Tours of Downtown Springville every Saturday morning in April, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Meet at the Springville Museum and Archives, 6496 U. S. Highway 11, across from the Methodist Church.  There is no charge to visit the museum or for the guided walking tours.  For more information, call 205-837-2586.

The Springville Preservation Society is now taking reservations for use of the historic “Little House” located adjacent to the Police Department for events or meetings. Rates are $40 for two hours; $75 for four hours; and $125 per day.  For reservations call Gayle Hammonds at 205-937-3071 or Paulette Kelly at 205-467-3971.

Community Meetings and Classes

Christ Community Church is offering monthly “Art Days” for kids ages 6-12, for $5. Register at art.springville.info

The Church at Bradford Road is offering a Divorce Support Group for Children every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Contact 205-467-7376. 

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course, which is open to the public. The course includes 2 hour classroom training and 2 hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work and piloting skills.
