The Springville High School Tigers Baseball Team won their final Regional game 3-1 against Madison Academy on May 9 and will now head to the AHSAA State 5A Baseball Tournament on Thursday, May 16 at Patterson Field in Montgomery. They will play the winner of the Briarwood vs. Sylacauga game.

Congratulations to the six boats from the Springville Anglers team that qualified for the Alabama Bass Nation State Tournament this season. Mason Beck/Brent Cowley, Logan Henderson/Steven Swann, Noah Butler/Dalton Howard, Kyle Kellum/Davis Sims and Chase Parnell/Dakota Chastain. Brock Bowers and Rocky Jonio finished in the top ten in the final season standings.

Isaac Puckett has been approved to build a new dog park for the City of Springville at Big Springs Park as his Boy Scout Eagle Project. He is working to raise money through donations and sponsors to buy the fencing, benches and other accessories and hoping to raise $8000. The City is matching up to $4500. Congratulations to the Springville Tigers Track and Field Team that competed at the AHSAA State Championship Meet on May 2 – 4 in Gulf Shores. Top ten finishers include: Girls Triple Jump 5A – Farrah Hawkins; Boys 4 x 800 Meter Relay 5A, Springville; Boys Triple Jump 5A – Cameron Bonner and Aaron Byars; Boys Javelin Throw 5A – Pearson Baldwin.

Springville Girls Softball competed in the 5-A Regional Tournament in Tuscaloosa on May 11 to defend their State Championship title.

Springville Middle School Baseball Team won the St. Clair County Championship.

Springville Events

Springville Community Theater will hold open auditions for “Peter Pan” on May 18 and 19. No experience is necessary. Actors must be at least 7 years of age. Auditions and Crew Sign-up will be held at the Springville Middle School on Saturday, May 18 and Sunday, May 19 at 2 p.m. Show dates are set for Thursday through Sunday, July 25-28. Springfest will be held Saturday, May 18 starting at 3 p.m. at Big Springs Park.

Horse Pens 40 will host “Bluegrass & Craft Fair” on May 24 – 26.

The Splash Pad at Big Springs Park is now open. Admission is $2. The Splash Pad “Spring Hours” will be Weekends Only until May 28; Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. and Sundays from 1 – 5 p.m.
