The Springville Senior Center had a full house on Dec. 2 for their holiday ceramics class.

Congratulations to Springville Firefighter, Dakota Putnam, for graduating from Firefighter I/II Recruit School on Nov. 23. Dakota is a full time fireman with Springville and is the son of Lt. Dennis Putnam.

The Springville Library hosted the LSTA Open House on Dec. 3 with new science, math, reading, and engineering kits.

Congratulations to Springville Elementary Spelling Bee Finalists, Farrah and Audrey, who competed on Dec. 5.

Springville Events

The Springville Fire Department is now taking orders for smoked Hams and Turkeys. Pick up will be Dec. 23 after 3 p.m. at the Fire Department.

The Annual Springville Christmas Parade is Dec. 14, themed, “Christmas in Whoville”.

Springville Police Department is presenting a Firearms Safety course, which is open to the public. The course includes two hour classroom training and two hours actual training on the firing range by two certified NRA instructors. You may sign up by calling Lauri Jones at 205-467-6133. The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years of age and adults may also join as senior members. Cadets learn leadership skills, aerospace, character development, as well as team work and piloting skills.
