- The Springville Public Library receives a visit from several superheroes for Storytime on Wednesday, June 28. Storytime is every Wednesday at 10:30a.m. in the library annex.
Payless Drug Store in Springville raised over $4,000 in their campaign for Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month this June. They encourage residents to register with the Alzheimer’s Association at act.alz.org.

The City of Springville will host a free, family, outdoor movie night at Big Springs Park on July 7 with a showing of Moana. There will be free popcorn, drinks, games and cotton candy. Bring a blanket and enjoy the movie.
The Springville Youth Soccer Association will hold online registration until August 5 at www.quickscores.com/sya. There will be an in-person registration on August 5 at The First Baptist Church of Springville’s soccer fields, located on Terry Street, across from Dollar General.
In honor of St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals, the Springville Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 8, will feature pet portrait artist, Chris Davis, for Drawdog. The event will include pets, activities and pet adoption. They will finish that afternoon in worship to celebrate “all creatures great and small,” as well as bless your pets and family.
The Springville Antique Mall will celebrate it’s ten-year anniversary with refreshments, prize drawings and discounts every Saturday in July. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10a.m. to 5p.m. and Sunday 1p.m. to 5p.m.

VBS Round-Up 2017
“Gadgets and Gizmos” VBS at North Valley Church will be July 9th – 13th, each night at 6:30p.m.
Flow Church in Ashville will host “Shipwrecked,” VBS, July 12th -14th at 5:30p.m. & 8p.m. each night. Register at www.kidblitz.org
The Springville High School basketball team is hosting the Tiger Basketball Camp, July 24-27 from 9:00a.m. until noon for first through sixth grade. Cost is $50. Contact (205) 467-7833.
The Big Springs Park Splash Pad will be open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10a.m. to 7p.m., and on Sundays from 1p.m. until 5p.m. Cost is $1 per person, three years and under is free.
The Springville Farmers Market, located across from PNC Bank on Main Street, will be open until November 11, Fridays from 3-6p.m. and Saturdays from 8a.m. to 12p.m. The market will feature booths from local produce vendors, as well as arts and crafts vendors.

The Springville Civil Air Patrol meets every Tuesday from 6-8:30p.m. at the National Guard Armory. The age requirement is 12-18 years; adults may also join as senior members. Besides piloting, cadets learn skills in leadership, aerospace, character development and team work. The St. Clair County EMA has announced a road closure at Muckleroy Creek Bridge on AL State Hwy. 11, from Whitney Junction on AL Hwy. 231 to State Route 23. Springville will close to thru traffic on Monday, December 12 for bridge work. An alternate route is located on I-59. Local traffic can utilize Huff Lane to Crawford Cove to State Road 23, or Pinedale Road to State Road 23. The timeline is more than one year.
