Creek Bank Festival celebrates 20 years of community

Excitement is building for the 20th annual Creek Bank Festival this Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Leeds Memorial Park.
Looking forward to incorporating several new elements to this year’s event Leeds Area Chamber of Commerce executive director Sandra McGuire along with the chamber business ambassadors are expecting a record breaking day.
“We will have our Sweet’s Bake-Off at 10:30; Mascot Challenge at 11:00; Creek Bark Dog pageant at 2:00 and many other activities throughout the day,” said McGuire. “We are looking for door prizes for the festival, if your business would like to donate let me know.”

The Creek Bank Festival is a free family friendly event offering yummy eats, fun for the kids and even activities for our four legged friends.
Therapy dogs will be on hand along with dog demonstrations and show-n-go’s all taking place in the designated dog event area.
A beautifully handcrafted quilt will be raffled off during Saturday’s activities too.
As seen on the chamber’s website, www.leedsareachamber.com, “This beautiful one-of-a-kind quilt celebrates the 20th year of the Creek Bank Festival with an awesome handmade quilt made from Creek Bank Festival t-shirts from each of the Creek Bank Festivals. This quilt will be a prize possession for the person that takes it home.”
Tickets are $5 each or three for $10 and can be purchased at the Creek Bank Festival.
A day of fellowship, food and fun Creek Bank Festival will host a variety of vendors showcasing arts and crafts, delectable edibles and entertainment not to be missed.
This must attend event begins at 10 a.m., but early birds are invited to partake in the 5K and Fun Run sponsored by the American Cancer Society.
Registration begins at 7:00 a.m. with Opening Ceremonies starting at 8 a.m.
Get pumped up by taking part in Zumba and Stretching before the 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Curves, which begins at 8:45 a.m. The 1 mile Fun Run will begin at 9:00 a.m.
Water stations will be set up along the route as well as after the walk/run.
A balloon release will take place to honor or remember those who have fought the battle with cancer.
Registration can also be done at www.Creekbank5K.org. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
Gather your family and friends for a fun day of celebrating a caring community who come together to not only during this festival, but throughout the year to make a difference in their area.
