Congratulations to the Springville 9U All-Stars baseball team for placing fourth in the State and to the Springville 10U All-Stars softball team for placing fifth in the State. Finally, congratulations to the Springville 7U All-Stars baseball team for being invited to the Dizzy Dean World Series in Southaven, Mississippi.

The Springville Preservation Society is seeking information on the veterans of St. Clair County for an upcoming book. If you are a local veteran or know one that would like to be included, please contact the Springville Preservation Society at (205) 467-6766.

Ride Along Farms in Ashville is hosting Beginner-Advanced Horse Riding Camp, July 18-21 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Contact (205) 305-3837 for more information or to register.

The High School Basketball program will host Tiger Basketball Camp July 25-28 from 9 a.m. – noon as a fundraiser. Cost is $50 per camper.

Faith Community Fellowship Blockbuster Summer Series, “Drawn to the Movies” will be presented at FCF/Springville Sundays at 6 p.m., June 12-July 17 at Springville Middle.

The Springville Splash Pad at Big Springs Park is a great place to have fun and stay cool. It’s open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sundays 1-5 p.m. Admission for ages four & up is $1. For parties/groups or more information call (202) 467-2705.

The Springville Police Department is hosting a firearms safety class for the public. The cost of the class is $50. The fee includes firearms laws, weapon safety and weapon use. Must be 19 years of age or older and have a current pistol permit. Sign up at Springville City Hall or call (205) 467-6133.

Springville’s area VBS Round-Up:

• July 11-14 from 9-11a.m. Christ Community PCA will host an Art Camp for children ages 4-12. Camp will include fine art lessons, games, music, drawing, painting, watercolor, mixed media, beading and mosaic.

• Flow Church in Ashville is hosting Kid Blitz, Not Of This World!! July 13–15 at 5:30 or 8 p.m. flowchurch.tv/kidblitz2016/.

• CrossPoint Church is hosting SMASH July 17-21 from 6-8:30 p.m. SMASH is a fun filled week of Bible Study, worship and activities of your child’s choice. Pre-register at crosskids.info.

• Springville First UMC is hosting Super Heroes VBS, July 24-27 from 5:30pm – 8pm.
