Christmas: Beginning Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. through Saturday, Nov. 23 at 4 p.m., Resale to the Rescue will host its annual open house. It’s all decorated for Christmas so get there early to choose your beautiful Christmas tree from among the many already decorated. Christmas decor is all over the shop. Enjoy refreshments.
You are invited to the Christmas bazaar at the Venue on 20th Sunday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Enjoy a day of shopping, festive treats and indulge in delicious food while having the opportunity to meet both Santa and the Grinch.
Want a picture with Santa and help with a special event? Then go to the Pell City Rec Center on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 4-6 p.m. For $5 cash per child (includes snacks and a visit from Santa’s elves), you can get a picture with Santa and support the Special Needs Prom. Arrive 5 minutes before the appointment time and don’t forget your camera. This is sponsored by the PCHS Key Club, the Pell City Kiwanis Club and Santa Chuck Hurst. The PCHS Choir Christmas Concert will be at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4, at the Pell City First Baptist Church. There will be a special performance by the Pell City Showstoppers.
“A Walk Through Bethlehem” will be at Homestead Hollow Saturday, Dec. 7 and Sunday, Dec. 8 from 5:30-8 p.m.
“The 12 Days of Christmas” is the theme for the 2024 Pell City Christmas Parade. It will be Friday, Dec. 13, beginning at 7 p.m.
Schools: Big news … Coosa Valley Elementary has ranked in the top 6% of all elementary schools in Alabama according to US News and World Report. Coosa Valley Elementary placed 71 out of 1,149 schools! Congratulations!
Sports: Congratulations to Pell City High School’s River Richard who finished 3rd in the state in Class 6A running a 15:37 to finish his senior year for the Panthers.
Congratulations to the PCHS Varsity Cheerleader who came in 3rd at Regionals and are going to state.
Congratulations to PCHS Senior Stephania Chacon who signed to play tennis at Coastal Alabama.
Miscellaneous: A good tip: If you put orange peels under your Christmas tree, the cats won’t bother it. I haven’t tried this. If someone does and it works, please let me know.
