Conner Nelson accounted for three total touchdowns to help No. 9 Leeds take down No. 3 Fairview 36-22 in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs on Friday night.
The Greenwave (10-2) led 28-7 in the third quarter following Nelson’s three scores and another by Taylon Gaiter before the Aggies (10-1) scored 15 straight points to draw to within 28-22 with 5:55 left in the bout.
ZJ Dale, however, scored from 27 yards out with less than two minutes remaining to help Leeds pull it out.
The Greenwave will host No. 7 Corner next week for a spot in the semifinals.
