Victory Highlights

Victory Christian 40 Alabama School For The Deaf 8

VCS quarterback Harrison Cheatwood looked and played in a very mature and poised way last week, as he moved deftly within the pocket on one play, when under pressure from the Silent Ghosts, he slung a 35-yard touchdown strike to Christian Brown for one touchdown and unleashed a 46-yard bomb to wide receiver Lucas Riley for a second score through the air. ASDF came at a crucial time in the Lions’ schedule, allowing them to heal up and prepare for the postseason.

First Round Playoff Preview – Woodville (4-6) @ Victory Christian (7-2)

Victory Christian’s magical season continues, and as the old saying goes – ‘The games you remember are played in November.’ A week five rematch, in which Victory Christian easily disposed of Woodville 50-14, is on the menu next week for the Lions’ first home playoff game in over a decade. The Panthers have continued to play inconsistently, having lost five of their last six games and having been outscored 229-359 this season.

Defensively, VCS will be challenged by a young and athletic quarterback in #1 Sophomore Nick Baker. Carrying the ball for Woodville and running their defense from the linebacker position will be #45 Sophomore Angel Montesdeoca, who is a very physical and fearless player on both sides of the ball.
