Mortimer Jordan showed why it is a top ten ranked team in the state last Friday after they dismantled Springville’s defense with touchdown runs of 61 and 74 yards by Spencer Brown, and two long touchdown passes by Duncan Hodges. The Tigers couldn’t generate much offensively, getting shut out and never entering MJ’s red zone.

Week 10 preview: Springville (1-8) vs. John Carroll (0-9)

The Tigers will be hosting a John Carroll squad that is winless this season and has the second worst defense in all of 6A football, having given up 372 points in nine games. This should be refreshing for Springville’s offense, which was held to 90 total yards the week before. Offensively John Carroll have a little punch with tight end Dilan Sherrod and running back Demetrius Battle. But the Knights offensive line is a sieve and quarterback Bailey Mara has been harassed all season. In spite of Springville’s struggles this year, their defense can get into the backfield against this John Carroll squad and bring in a second victory at home.
