Christmas Festivities Ready for Area Residents

The Pell City Christmas Parade, sponsored by the Greater Pell City Chamber Of Commerce will be Thursday, December 10 at 7 p.m. The theme will be “Sounds Of Christmas.” The grand marshal will be Curtis Capps, owner of Royal Sausage. The deadline for entries is tomorrow, December 4.
Applications may be picked up at the Pell City Chamber office located at 1618 Cogswell Avenue, or call 205-338-3377 and request an application be faxed or emailed to you.
For more information contact Lynn Batemon, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce at 205-338-3377. There are over 40 entries already and they are still accepting applications.
“I spoke to Santa this morning and he’s going be here,” Batemon said Wednesday. “We hope it’ll be of interest to folks and a delight for children.”
* The Springville Old Time Christmas Parade will be Saturday, December 12 at 6 p.m. Applications are available at city hall or you can contact Misty Fowler at 467-2849. The deadline for entries is December 9. The grand marshal will be John Trotter, who was selected as Alabama Patriot of the Year. There will also be a “Hometown Hero” float that will feature firemen, policemen and retired or active military.
* The City of Moody and the Moody Area Chamber of Commerce would like to extend a special invitation to area residents to join them in their annual Christmas parade, which will be held Saturday, December 12 at 5 p.m.
The parade theme this year is “A Hometown Christmas.” Mike Raita with ABC 33/40 will be the Master of Ceremonies and will be announcing each float from Center Stage at the Moody Crossroads. The parade will begin at ADESA and line-up will start at 4 p.m. The parade ends at Moody City Park. If you would like to be a part of the parade, contact Melissa Fraser at 640-0307. There is no charge to enter a vehicle, float or horse, but participants do need to register.
The City of Moody and the Moody Chamber of Commerce are looking forward to seeing you at the parade and wish you Happy Holidays.
* Ashville is not having a parade this year due to construction at the courthouse square.
* Odenville’s Christmas Parade will be December 12 at 4:30 p.m.
* Ragland’s parade will be today at 6:30.
