Moody Topples Leeds

The Moody Blue Devils beat their cross-bridge, city rivals the Leeds Green Wave. The Blue Devil defense held the Green Wave to two Keaton Glass field goals before Moody’s Brandon Hicks punched it across the goal line before the half. At the close of the fourth, the Green Wave had a chance to boot in another field goal, but Glass’ kick bounced off the bottom, left edge of the goal post.
The intense city-to-city rivalry has been ongoing for years and Moody coach Brandon Wiley praised each team’s fans for a pleasant lead up to the game. “We acted like two teams that are separated by five miles,” he said.
Both teams are headed to the playoffs next week. Leeds will be hosting Sylvania while Moody will most likely travel to Greenville or possibly Carver (Montgomery).
